Welcome to Big Sioux Rifle & Pistol

club history

The Big Sioux Rifle and Pistol Club was recognized as an NRA affiliated club on September 10th 1979.

The range itself was not constructed until several years later. Since the land was purchased in June of 2002 a modernization has taken place and a new building was constructed and the range shelters rebuilt.

The ranges were upgraded to accommodate more shooters and the club continues to improve the facilities.

During the summer months the club sponsors CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program), Cowboy Action and IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) events.

facilities

The clubhouse has two restrooms (handicap accessible) and is heated and air-conditioned. Water, pop, targets and earplugs are available.

All positions are covered and have benches to shoot from. Sand bags, staplers and target frames are provided.

We have 10 pistol lanes and 18 rifle lanes. 1 shotgun patterning board is available.

The pistol lanes have target lines for pistols at 10, 25 and 50 yards.

For rifles we have 25, 50, 75, 100 and 200 yard target positions.

A range officer is always present when the range is in operation. The range is closed if an RO is not available.

IPSC and Cowboy action shoots are held on a separate range complex adjacent to the other ranges.

The range is open Wednesdays 1:00-5:00, Saturdays and Sundays 9:00-5:00.
