What would you think of a group that raises money for South Dakota youth programs like 4-H Shooting Sports, range projects at Boy Scout Camps or helps finance local Hunter Safety classes? What would you think of a group that helps gun club’s make improvements, gives money to shooting programs for women or sponsors shooting events for paralyzed veterans? If your like me, you would think that an organization that does these things is very worthwhile.

In a nutshell that’s what the “Friends of NRA” events do . The NRA is well known for it’s political clout, it’s stance on guns and sporting issues, but what you might not know about is the Non-political side of the NRA called “Friends of NRA”. In the last few years the “Friends of NRA” events here in the South Dakota have given over $384,000 to shooting programs like those mentioned above.

These are your neighbors or maybe the organizations you or your children belong to. You could be completely surprised that an NRA program could provide so much to local support to the shooting sports. So look take the time to attend a “Friends” event near you. Better yet, find and event and take your kids, spouse and a couple of your friends or hunting buddies and take them to a “Friends OF NRA” event with you!
