Applying for NRA Foundation Grants
TO: Prospective "Friends of NRA" Grant Applicants
FROM: Clayton M. Pederson, NRA Field Rep
Thank you for your interest in the NRA Foundation, Inc. “Friends of NRA” grant program. Established
in 1990, The NRA foundation raises money in South Dakota thanks to local “Friends” committees that
organize and host fundraising events throughout South Dakota. These events raise funds that are then
in turn used to fund LOCAL programs in South Dakota that promote firearm and hunting safety,
enhance marksmanship skills, educate the general public about firearms in their historic,
technological and artistic context.
Funds generated by the “Friends of NRA” grants benefit a wide variety of people and include children,
youth, women, individuals with disabilities, gun collectors, law enforcement officers and hunters.
You may click on the link below and get a copy of the grant application with the guidelines for
completing the same. Completed application forms need to be submitted directly to me, Clayton Pederson,
before the November 1st deadline date, each year in order to be considered for a grant. The South
Dakota Grant Committee will meet in the early part of each year and send their grant recommendations
to the NRA Foundation for final approval. Once recommended grant applications are approved by the
Foundation, those organizations will be notified in writing.
If you should have any questions about the grant application, the approval process or the NRA
Foundation please feel free to contact me. Also please visit our website at
www.friendsofnra.org
for complete information about Friends of NRA, Event Dates, Start a New Event, and to Volunteer.
On behalf of all the volunteers on all the “Friends of NRA” committees in our state, we thank you
for your interest and wish you the very best.
Sincerely,
Clayton M. Pederson
